And even though it’s not fancy, it’s so popular that even Bobby Flay once said it was his favorite burger! Simple and classic, it’s got American cheese, pickles, and raw onions. Melon – Cheeseburger, $13.50, UES Instagram/ Melon serves one of NYC’s quintessential hamburgers. And, as true to the restaurant’s name, you can order it as a single or a double for an extra $3. The Greg Norman is the 3x people’s choice award winner at NYC’s “Burger Bash,” and it’s made with wagyu beef, blue cheese, house buttermilk-dill, and arugula. Known for their “CrazyShakes,” don’t overlook the burger selection at this New York joint. Black Tap Singles & Doubles – The Greg Norman, $12, SoHo Facebook/ Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer It’s leaps above fast food chains while still being totally affordable. This patty has the crispiest edges ever that pair flawlessly with its toppings of pickled cherry pepper and bacon relish, American cheese, and smoky chipotle mayo. Harlem Shake – Hot Mess, $9, Harlem Instagram/ Hot Mess from Harlem Shake is changing the game of smash burgers. A cheesy patty in a potato roll with some shack sauce…yum! You can even Get a DIY ShackBurger kit delivered right to your apartment, try making your own, or splurge on double patties for $9.09. It may be a chain, but for about $7 it’s a staple burger for any New Yorker. It’s all about the toppings and the aged meat…but personally, we’ll stick to the comfort and cost of the first half of this list most days. The Blakely Hotel entry has a portable ramp that provides an accessible route to our lower level dining area. We currently have accessible seating in the lower level dining area, which may be accessed through The Blakely Hotel if you are unable to climb stairs. Also in the works: accessible paths of travel within the restaurant, connecting the upper level dining area to the lower level dining area, accessible seating locations at both levels of the restaurant, and an accessible restroom within the restaurant. We’re undergoing extensive renovations to make this location as accessible as the space will allow, including an accessible entrance from the street level to the restaurant. Black Tap Midtown features chromatic street art by famed visual artist Bradley Theodore, including a portrait of Marilyn Monroe in our semi-private “Marilyn Room.” Black Tap Midtown accommodates 100 guests seated and 126 guests standing. In 2016, we took our little slice of SoHo uptown, next to the iconic Blakely Hotel on 55th Street.
